Chang Ju-chen...met an Immortal who imparted to him the Way of the Bright Mirror，saying:“That which reflects the principle of things is Heaven: that which reflects the form of things is a mirror. The Way of Heaven is purity，the essence of a mirror is its brightness. He who is able to make his heart clean and to tranquillise his spirit，will achieve the perfection of Tao.”
王十八先生似乎是一个具有仙术的人。有一次他碰见刺史刘晏，便给了对方三粒药丸，并告诉他，每一粒药丸都会给他添10年的寿。30年过后，王十八又来了，这次他给了巡抚刘晏一剂卤水，巡抚喝了之后，就把这三粒药丸吐了出来。说时迟，那时快，巡抚的侄子一把就夺过了这些药丸，并随即吞了下去。王十八神情严肃地对他点点头：“看来你对于道情有独钟，你会得道的！”说着他就离开了。
